Paul Pickering, MD

Physician

Dr. Paul Pickering is a dedicated and compassionate board-certified internal medicine physician with over 20 years of healthcare service in Chicago. Following his medical school training at the University of Texas San Antonio, Dr. Pickering moved here to complete his internal medicine residency at Rush Medical Center. He has most recently worked as a primary care physician for Northwestern Medical Group, where his responsibilities also included mentoring Northwestern University medical students.

 

Dr. Pickering is excited by AIM’s concierge model and how it allows him to enhance the patient experience by fostering strong doctor-patient relationships, prioritizing patient education and empowerment, and ensuring accessibility. He believes AIM's proactive approach to care, with a strong emphasis on preventative medicine and personalized treatment plans, will lead to improved health outcomes.


Outside of his medical career, Dr. Pickering is a classical pianist, having completed a Master's degree in piano performance from the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University in 2023. In addition to his musical pursuits, he has a passion for mixology, reading, film and the Chicago Cubs. Dr. Pickering lives in Old Irving Park with his partner Brian, his Irish terrier, Darby, and Gibbs, his Bengal cat.
